Indoor track and field opened its season over the weekend, giving us six sports in regular season action. Those earning weekly honors for the week of November 30 - December 6, 2015 included...

Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete - Ithaca
Anna Belson, Sophomore – Hartland, WI/Arrowhead

 
Anna Belson won both diving events over the weekend as the Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team placed fourth out of 11 teams at the fifth annual Bomber Invitational. Belson won the 1-meter dive with 388.10 points which was better than 29 other entries including seven Division I divers. The sophomore would go on to post 426.60 points in the 3-meter event to take the top spot. In doing so, Belson bested eight DI divers.
 
Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete - Stevens
Ravi Sun, Senior – Arkadelphia, AK/Arkadelphia

 
Ravi Sun claimed first place in six events (three relay, three individual) in leading the Ducks to a first place finish at the WPI Invitational. Sun helped the 800-freestyle relay team record an NCAA "B" cut time of 6:47.14. Sun also grabbed first place in the 200-IM, (1:50.87) along with the 50 (23.25) and 100-yard (48.97) backstroke events. The Arkansas native also was a part of first place relay teams in the 400-Medley (3:19.66) and 200-Medley (1:30.30).
 
Men's Basketball Player - Nazareth
Mitch Ford, Senior, Center – Victor, NY/Victor

 
Mitch Ford had three double-doubles on the week as he averaged 19.7 points and 11.7 rebounds. Ford shot 46 percent from the field (19-for-41) and 74 percent (20-of-27) from the free throw line. He started the week with 28 points and 11 rebounds against Geneseo on Wednesday, then had 20 points and 12 boards on Friday verse Hobart. Ford capped the week on Saturday with 11 points and 12 rebounds against St. John Fisher.
 
Men's Basketball Rookie - Ithaca
Peter Ezema, Freshman, Guard – New York, NY/ High School for Health

 
Freshman Peter Ezema shot .714 percent from the floor as he helped guide the Ithaca to a 1-1 record last week. Ezema averaged 10 points and 7.5 rebounds to go along with 3.5 steals. Against Cortland, Ezema tallied eight points and nine rebounds on 4-of-7 shooting before adding 12 points and six boards on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor against St. Lawrence.
 
Women's Basketball Player - Elmira
Danielle Cleary, Sophomore, Guard – Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy

 
Danielle Cleary enjoyed another superb week on the hardwood, as she helped Elmira go 1-1. She finished the week averaging 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and a .909 mark from the charity stripe. Cleary produced her third double-double of the year against Clarkson, scoring a season-high 29 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. She followed that up with another 20-point performance, her fifth consecutive game with 20 or more, in a 35-point win over Penn College of Technology. Cleary also grabbed eight boards and made two steals in the win.
 
Women’s Basketball Rookie –  Elmira
Lindsey Heaton, Freshman, Guard – New Milford, CT/New Milford
 
Lindsey Heaton averaged 8.5 points and four rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Soaring Eagles. Heaton netted eight points against Clarkson on Tuesday and then scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 35-point win over Penn College of Technology on Thursday.
 
Men’s Indoor Track Athlete –  Alfred
Seth Spicer, Sophomore – Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post
 
Seth Spicer opened the 2015-16 season in record fashion as he set a new school record in winning the indoor heptathlon over the weekend at the Edinboro (PA) University Mike Kowal Invitational. Competing against athletes from Division II schools, Spicer posted a score of 4,567 points. In addition, his scores in the pentathlon events combined to set a new school record in that event as well (3,433 points).
 
Men’s Indoor Field Athlete –  St. John Fisher
Kyle Koehler, Senior – Pulaski, NY/Pulaski
 
Kyle Koehler finished first in shot put at the Brockport Early Season Invitational. He bested the field of 40-plus competitors with an ECAC qualifying mark of 15.75.
 
Women’s Indoor Track Athlete –  Stevens
Amy Regan, Senior – Green Brook, NJ/Watching Hills Regional
 
Amy Regan broke the school record in the 5,000-meter run at the Metro Holiday Season Opener Saturday. Regan's time of 16:37.56 bested the field by over a minute, and was the fourth fastest time ever ran in Division III history. 
 
Women’s Indoor Field Athlete –  Ithaca
Katherine Pitman, Junior – Swampscott, MA/Swampscott
 
Junior Katherine Pitman broke Ithaca's school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5.5 inches) and won the event over 20 competitors at the Greg Page Relays hosted by Cornell. Pitman topped the previous best mark set by senior Alex Rechen last winter of 3.72 meters, and also qualified for ECACs.
