ORCHARD PARK, NY—Buffalo State senior wide receiver Mike Doherty (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) was an invited participant in the University at Buffalo's "Pro Day" on Thursday, March 12 at the AdPro Sports Training Center.

Doherty was invited after an impressive performance at the National Bowl Game in Miami, Fla. on Dec. 6.  Scouts from the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Redskins were all on hand at today's event.

Doherty again turned heads, producing impressive statistics in a variety of tests and measurements: Weight (207); Height (6-1); Hand Size (9 3/8"); Broad Jump (10'2"); 225-Bench (15 reps); 40-Time (4.51); and Vertical (33.5").  He also performed well during on-field drills, agility tests and pass catching.

Doherty led the Empire 8 this season with a school record 62 catches, and also had a league-best 1,144 receiving yards and 1,877 all-purpose yards this season.  He scored 10 touchdowns and finished his career as the school's all-time leader with 176 receptions.  He also owns school records for catches in a game (15 in the ECAC Southwest Bowl), kickoff returns in a career (97), kickoff return yards in a career (2,261), and all-purpose yards in a game (419), season (1,877) and career (5,554).

A pair of returning player, offensive lineman Brandon Lathrop (Kenmore/Kenmore West) and defensive lineman Anthony Sanders (Buffalo/McKinley) were also invited participants in the afternoon's session designated for juniors, where they had the opportunity to showcase their athleticism in front of the scouts.
