Bombers Edged; Golden Flyers Shutout

ITHACA
The Ithaca College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 dual match against Kutztown on Thursday night at the Beach & Tennis Club at Hilton Head, S.C. Ithaca is 2-3-1 on the season and Kutztown improved to 5-2.

The Bombers picked up a victory at first doubles as Wes Davis and Jack Melhorn were 8-3 winners. Ithaca trailed 2-1 after doubles play.

Three of the six singles matches included a set that went to a tiebreak, and Ithaca earned victories from Chris Hayes, Wes Davis and Brandon Buksbaum.

Ithaca will return to action Saturday, March 21 against Houghton at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell, and Ithaca will host Alfred on Sunday, March 22 on the IC campus.

NAZARETH BOX
Hilton Head, S.C.-- The Nazareth men had another tough loss to Rhodes College this morning with a final score of 9-0. The men drop to 0-6 overall.

Rhodes swept all three doubles matches this morning. Nazareth's strongest showing was at first doubles where the duo of Tyler Williams and Jared Sharza lost to Daniel Olivier and Jack Patton 8-5. Sophomore Christian Bryant and junior Scott Trobert fell to their opponent 8-1 at second doubles. At third doubles, Brian Rosiek and Matt Jennings were defeated by Sam Robertson and Luis Ardila 8-4.

In singles action, junior Tyler Williams had the closest match at first singles falling to Daniel Olivier 6-4, 6-2. Scott TrobertMatt Jennings, and Matt Jennings each fell 6-0, 6-1 to their opponents at second, third and fourth singles respectively.
