MYRTLE BEACH, SC—The Alfred University men's lacrosse team (4-0, E8 0-0) completed the week-long sweep in Myrtle Beach during their 2015 Spring Break trip, topping Emmanuel College, 14-6.
 
AU dominated Emmanuel in ground balls, out grabbing them, 51-25. Sophmore Jimmy Pratti Minisink, NY/Minisink Valley) also impressed, winning 17-of-21 faceoffs against his opponents.
 
Senior attacker Nicolas Wood (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) led the Saxons with four goals on the afternoon, adding two assists.  Both Ben DeMarco (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) and Nick Skibitsky (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville East) were major contributors as well, adding a hat trick a piece.  Sophmore Derek Bishopp (Livonia, NY/Livonia) scored twice for the Saxons while sophomore John Winchell (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and junior Tanner Morse (Corning, NY/Corning East) added a goal each.
 
Winchell added three assists to his season tally and teammates Keenan Denis and Nicolas Wood added two assists on the afternoon. Eight Saxons had three groundballs in the game.
 
Freshman goalie Drew Gardner (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) had nine saves on 14 shots while Tyler Beyor (Cartage, NY/Carthage) stopped one shot.
 
The Saxons return to action Tuesday March 17 to take on Empire 8 foe Houghton College.
