Baseball Player – Ithaca
Trevor Thompson, Sophomore, Third baseman – Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Jefferson Regional
Trevor Thompson hit .440 during Ithaca's spring break trip to California, which included four multi-hit games. Thompson went 11-for-25 overall in seven games to go along with four runs, four RBI, four walks, two doubles and a triple.
Baseball Pitcher – Ithaca
Andrew Sanders, Senior – Auburn, NY/Auburn
Senior Andrew Sanders picked up a save and combined on a shutout during Ithaca's trip to California. Sanders appeared in three games overall with one start and posted a 1.50 ERA in 12 innings pitched. He did not allow a run in two relief appearances and only game up two earned runs (four total) in a seven-inning start against Chapman.
Softball Player – Ithaca
Kelly Robichaud, Junior, Catcher/Designated Player – Vernon, CT/East Catholic
Kelly Robichaud had a strong start to her junior campaign this past week on the Bombers' spring trip to California. She led the team with a .364 batting average, while also pacing the team with five RBI. She collected eight hits in 22 at-bats, including five extra-base hits. She recorded three doubles and two home runs over the eight-game stretch.
Softball Pitcher – Nazareth
Nicole Bayona, Senior – Mastic Beach, NY/William Floyd
Nicole Bayona allowed just one earned run in 28 innings of work and posted a 3-1 record during Nazareth's spring trip to Florida. She owns a 0.25 earned run average with 17 strikeouts.
Men’s Lacrosse Player – Utica
Matthew Miller, Sophomore, Midfield – Geneva, NY/Geneva
Sophomore Matthew Miller netted a team-best four goals over the course of two games for Utica last week. He scored two goals in the Pioneers 6-4 win over Potsdam on Saturday. He also netted a team-best two goals in Utica’s 11-6 loss to Hamilton on Wednesday. He has scored a goal in each game this season and he ranks second on the team with six goals through four games.
Men’s Lacrosse Goalie – Alfred
Drew Gardner, Freshman – Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point
Freshman goalie Drew Gardner got the win in all three games last week as the Saxons swept contests in Myrtle Beach, SC, against Hilbert, Merchant Marine Academy, and Emmanuel. He made a total of 34 saves in the three wins and allowed 21 goals for a .618 save percentage.
Women's Lacrosse Player - Stevens
Caitlyn Hughes, Senior, Attack - Randolph, NJ/Randolph
Senior attack Caitlyn Hughes led Stevens to a 13-9 road win at FDU-Florham Friday night, scoring a season-high six goals for the Ducks. Hughes scored on 67 percent of her shot attempts (6-for-9), adding one ground ball and one caused turnover to her line. Hughes' fourth goal of the game served as the game-winner with the Duck veteran notching three of the Ducks' final four markers in the contest.
Women's Lacrosse Goalie - Hartwick
Steph Luce, Senior, Goalie - Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs
Steph Luce fell short of a career-high by one save in the first half alone in an 11-7 loss to St. Joseph's (LI) on Saturday. The senior goalkeeper made 16 saves in the opening 30 minutes and finished with 22 in the game. She added three saves in 50 minutes in an 18-0 shutout of Cazenovia on Wednesday.
Men’s Tennis Player– St. John Fisher
Kevin Kulawiec, Freshman – Fairport, NY/Fairport
Kevin Kulawiec picked up a pair of wins to lead St. John Fisher to a 9-0 victory in their lone match of the week against D’Youville College. Kulawiec teamed up with Adam Moran at second doubles for an 8-2 win. The freshman then turned his attention to singles, claiming a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win at the first singles position.
