D3hoops.com All-East Region team

St. John Fisher sophomore Keegan Ryan has been named to the D3hoops.com All-East Region first team, while Nazareth junior Mitch Ford was recognized on the second team and Nazareth junior Maurice Mills and Fisher senior Chaz Lott were named to the third team. Fisher's Rob Kornaker was named the Coach of the Year in the region.

Ryan, the Empire 8 Player of the Year, was a dominant force down low all year with a 56.0 shooting percentage en route to 14.6 points per game.  Ryan, who pulled down 9.0 rebounds per game, recorded 10 double-doubles on the year and scored in double figures in 25-of-30 games this season.

Ford put up 21.4 points per game. He also averaged 9.5 rebounds per game  while shooting 49.7 percent from the field (155-for-312) and 73.4 percent from the free throw line (105-for-143). He was named three times as E8 Player of the Week. His season also was highlighted by a school-record shattering 49-point performance against Ithaca on Feb. 17.

Mills finished second in the E8 in both scoring (18.5 ppg.) and rebounding (10.5 per game) while leading the league in blocked shots at 2.2 per game. He was third in the league in field goal accuracy at 54.9 percent (173-for-315) and shot 67.2 percent from the free throw line (117-for-174). He was twice honored as E8 Player of the Week and finished the season by surpassing the 1,000-point mark in career scoring.

Lott dished out 6.9 assists per game for a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.  In addition, the junior guard proved a difficult matchup in the backcourt notching 10.2 points per game.  He also racked up 5.1 rebounds per game and 1.3 steals.

Kornaker and the Cardinals finished with a 25-5 overall record in one of the most successful seasons in the history of the 52-year program, having reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since the 2006-07 season and just the fourth time ever in the program's history. Kornaker guided the Cardinals to as high as No. 16 in the NCAA Division III national polls after rattling off 18 consecutive wins, the third longest winning streak in program history.  Kornaker instilled a strong defensive effort amongst his players, propelling Fisher to allow just 62.3 points per game.
