Nazareth junior Lindsey Kelly and Stevens Institute of Technology junior Kaitlyn Astel have been named to the D3hoops.com All-East Region first team, while St. John Fisher College senior Portia Velasco was named to the second team.

Kelly enjoyed a strong 2014-15 season for the Golden Flyers, who finished 15-11 overall after reaching the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. She led the Golden Flyers and was among the conference leaders in both scoring (15.2 ppg.) and rebounding (10.2 rpg.).

She also set a school record for single-season field goal accuracy by hitting 60.1 percent of her shots (161-for-268) and was first in the Empire 8 in free throw percentage at 82 percent (73-for-89). She has been honored three times this season as E8 Player of the Week. On Feb. 6 at Alfred, she became the 14th Nazareth player to surpass 1,000 points in career scoring.

Astel led the Ducks with 16.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, and became the first Duck since Dani Dudek in 2009 to be named the Empire 8 Conference's Player of the Year. Behind Astel's efforts, the Ducks received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Additionally, Astel led the Ducks to their most wins since 2008-09, and recorded career-highs in assists, steals and three pointers.

Velasco put up 15.2 points per game while holding a 46.6 field goal percentage.   Velasco took advantage of her trips to the charity stripe, converting 88-of-111 (.793).  The shifty guard iaveraged 2.4 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
