Utica Stretches Win Streak to Four as it Downs MCLA

Winter Haven, FL (3/18/15)- Junior Josh Luczak (Ava, NY/RFA) allowed just four hits and struck out three to help the Utica College baseball team defeat the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, 11-1, in seven innings Wednesday morning.
 
UC improves to 4-1 on the year, marking its best start to a season in over a decade.  The Pioneers look to keep their momentum rolling as they face Colby-Sawyer College in a double-header on Thursday.  The first pitch of game one is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
 
Utica jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the Pioneers scored 11 straight runs en route to their fourth straight victory.  Junior Adam Pexton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led Utica going 2-for-4 at the plate with five RBI and two runs scored, including one home run.  Classmate Matthew DeMartino (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) was 2-for-2, while Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ) went 2-for-3 with two RBI. 
 
Jake Ryan (Kingston, NY/Kingston), Christopher Wotten (Blackstock, Ontario/Cartwright), Ronald Manella, Brandon Thomas (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markam), and Benjamin Hobaica (Clinton, NY/Clinton) also had hits for UC.
