Griesmer and Belson Earn All-America Honors on Day 1

The competition at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Shenandoah, Texas opened on Wednesday.
Ithaca sophomore
Nickie Griesemer and freshman
Anna Belson earned All-America honors in 3-meter diving.
Griesemer earned a spot in the championship final with a score of 422.10 in the preliminaries. She finished eighth overall with a score of 423.35, earning All-America First Team honors.
Belson recorded a score of 395.05 in the morning session, securing her a spot in the consolation final. Belson finished second in the consolation final with a score of 419.15 to take All-America Honorable Mention.
Griesemer's All-America selection marks her third in two seasons, while Belson's honor marks the first of her career.
Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore
Danielle Caruso and Nazareth sophomore Cameron Hess were the first E8 swimmers in action competing in the 500-yard freestyle. Caruso placed 36th, making her first appearance at the national meet, with a time of 5:07.06. Hess turned in a time of 5:08.71 to finish in 40th place in the 500-yard freestyle.
Stevens senior
Brittany Geyer – making her fourth trip to the nationals in four years – was 28th in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a 2:06.71 which was nearly two seconds better than her seed time.
Hartwick senior
Gwen Mathias, sophomore
Rachel Bellis, junior
Imma Rutigliano, and senior Kaitlyn Campbell competed in the women's 200 medley relay, finishing 28
th. The four Hawks were swimming in the first of five relay races they will race in over the next four days.
