Ithaca & Nazareth stand strong in USILA National Poll

ROCHESTER, NY -- Nationally-ranked No. 13 Ithaca College and No. 19 Nazareth College held their ground in this week’s edition of the USILA Division III Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll released on Monday.

The Bombers are currently 1-1 overall after falling to top-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology, 12-9, at home on Saturday. John Januszkiewicz leads the Bombers with eight points on six goals and two assists.  Jack Shumway has six points (four goals, two assists) and Steve Danylyshyn has four goals through two games. Goalie Scott Sidnam has 22 saves in two starts for the Bombers.

Nazareth (1-0) did not play this past week. On February 21st the Golden Flyers picked up a thrilling overtime victory, 11-10, over then-ranked No. 19 Springfield College. Nick Arnold scored the game-winner in extra time for the Golden Flyers. Troy Haefele and Luke Wooters lead the team with two goals and three assists each.  Face-off man Drew Simoneau also went 14 for 24 in the face-off circle and picked up a team-best eight ground balls. 

Ithaca is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Lycoming for non-conference action (3:30 p.m.). Nazareth returns to play on Wednesday as the Golden Flyers travel to Hamilton College to take on the Continentals at 4 p.m.
