Morrison and Sun Earn All-America Honor on Final Day
SHENANDOAH, Texas – Ithaca senior
Matt Morrison and Stevens Institute of Technology junior Ravi Sun wrapped up the final day of competition at the NCAA DIII Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at the CISD Natatorium with All-America honors.
Morrison earned his second All-America honor of the week with a strong performance in 3-meter diving. Morrison recorded a score of 534.40 in the preliminaries, ranking second. He accumulated a point total of 561.00 in the championship final, putting him third overall and earning him First Team All-America honors.
Sun placed seventh in the championship final of the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:48.19. He clocked a Stevens school record of 1:47.08 in the prelims.
Ithaca senior Lucas Zelehowsky finished the 200-yard breaststroke preliminaries in a time of 2:06.99, ranking tied for 28th out of 31 event entries.
Alfred senior David Luke and Hartwick senior Miles Blaney swam to a 38th and 39th place finish in the 100 freestlye event, respectively. Luke clocked a 46.07, while Blaney touched in 46.12.
