Wooters Named USILA North Player of the Week
Luke Wooters, junior attackman on the Nazareth men's lacrosse team, has been named
USILA Division III North Offensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period that ended March 22.
Wooters helped the Golden Flyers to three non-conference victories last week as he totaled 15 points on 10 goals and five assists. He scored three goals in the first quarter, including career goal No. 100, in Nazareth's 9-5 victory over Clarkson last Tuesday. He then contributed three goals and four assists in Saturday's 13-11 win over Dickinson and then four goals and one assist in an 11-9 win over 10th-ranked Cabrini on Sunday.
Nazareth, 6-2, opened its Empire 8 Conference schedule Wednesday at previous unbeaten Alfred (7-1). The Golden Flyers won its fourth game in a row as they defeated the Saxons 19-8. Wooters had a career-high 11 points on three goals and eight assists.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule at home Saturday against Elmira at 12 p.m.
