Fisher Takes Down Oswego State
FISHER Full Results
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team defeated Oswego State 6-3 in nonconference action on Thursday evening.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to 3-5 on the year.
Fisher swept first through third singles and also took first and second doubles to secure the win.
At first singles,
Kevin Kulawiec defeated Oswego's Alex McCarthy 6-2, 6-2.
Pat McGrath outlasted Lakers' Ryan Korn in second singles, winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Third singles featured
Jacob Zarzycki defeating Oswego's Brian Lyudemer 7-5, 6-1.
Kyle Stich rounded out singles-play victories with a 6-2, 6-3 win at sixth singles.
First doubles pair of McGrath and Zarzycki defeated Oswego 8-2, while second doubles pair of
Adam Moran and Kulawiec won 8-1.
NAZARETH Box
The University of Rochester defeated Nazareth Thursday in a non-conference men's tennis match, 9-0, at Mendon Racquet Club. The Golden Flyers, now 0-7 overall, seek their first win Saturday when they host Utica in an Empire 8 Conference match at 1 p.m.
Rochester took all six singles matches in straight sets Thursday, including first singles in which Ian Baranowski topped Nazareth's
Tyler Williams 6-2, 6-2.
Matt Jennings and
Christian Bryant each lost 6-1, 6-4 at third and fourth singles respectively and Jared Sharza lost 6-2, 6-4 at sixth singles.
UR used six different players in doubles matches with the tandem of Ben Shaprio and Jonny Baker defeating Nazareth's first twosome of Williams and Sharza 8-1.
