ALFRED Meet Results
CHESTER, PA --
Miasia Hillman, a senior on the Alfred University track and field team, turned in an outstanding start to the Saxons' 2015 outdoor season Saturday at Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational.
There were no team scores. Hillman won the 100-meter dash in 12.42 seconds and placed third in the 200-meter dash in 26.01 seconds.
Hillman wasn't the only Saxon woman to log a solid season-opening performance. Sophomore
Mary Baughman was 13
th in the 1,500-meter run (5:04.41) and freshman
Brynn Hyde was 21
st in the hammer throw (29.28 meters).
NAZARETH Results
ATLANTA, Ga. -- Nazareth's women's track and field team was in action for the second day at the Emory Classic. Senior
Hannah Brackley took first in 400-meter dash with a time of :58.61, and she was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of :26.42. Both times were roughly a second off her respective school records, which she set in 2013.
Nazareth finished fourth with 60 total points. Taylor recorded 113 points to edge Emory, who finished with 112. Columbus St. was third with 72.5 points.
In field events, senior
Sibongile Chisi was sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 2.92 meters (9 ft., 7 in.), and junior
Amanda Entress was seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 10.23 meters (33 ft., 6 3/4 in.)
Senior
Michaela Gildemeyer took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.6. In addition to Brackley's performance in the 200, junior
Taylor Pierson was 12th (:27.26) in the event, and freshman
Sarah Williams was 24th (:29.20). In the 400-meter dash, freshman
Samantha Goble was 14th with a time of 1:03.14. Sophomore
Emily Thompson was 16th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:24.25, and freshman
Kimmy Lovett was 23rd in the unseeded 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:08.19.
The Golden Flyers' relays were also successful. Nazareth's 4 x 400-meter team was fourth. Goble, Gildemeyer, Williams, and Brackley finished with a time of 4:08.72. The 4 x 100-meter relay team, consisting of Chisi, Pierson, Entress, and Williams, placed eighth with a time of :51.12.
STEVENS FULL RESULTS
OCEANPORT, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's outdoor track and field team opened their outdoor campaign at the Monmouth University Invitational on Saturday.
On the women's side, Jackie Endress had a time of 5:18.35 in the 1,500-meter, while sophomore
Michelle Moreira knocked off a handful of Division I athletes in the 400-meter dash. Sophomore
Yanique Spigner brought home an eleventh place finish in the discus, and senior
Amira Dardir, and freshmen
Katie Weeks and
Ashna Manhas had top-20 finishes in the javelin. Weeks also came in tenth in the shot put.
