Men’s Golf Concludes McDaniel College Spring Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (March
29, 2015) – Fisher shot a 308 on Sunday to finish 47-above par, capturing the McDaniell Spring Invitational men's title in Abbottstown, Pa. The Cardinals recorded a 315 in Saturday's first round to total 623, or 47-above par, just one stroke ahead of second-place Franklin & Marshall College. 

Corey Haas and Devin Solar led the way for the Cardinals, finishing tied for second among all individuals. After Saturday's opening round, Haas stood in first place at three-above par (75). The junior recorded 78 in the second round to finish nine-above par (153). Solar improved from his Saturday's score of 79 to 74 to also finish nin-above par.

Chris Blyth recorded 77 to finish tied for 11th at 14-above par. Karl Deuble and Christopher Salone rounded out the scoring for Fisher, coming in at 16- and 17-above par, respectively. 

Stevens Institute of Technology shot a 324 Sunday to place them in a tie for 12th on the final day of the McDaniel Spring Invitational. The Ducks shaved 20 strokes off their Saturday performance as players continued to battle cold conditions on the course. Stevens' two day total amounted to 668.
 
Senior Justin Niemeier paced the Ducks today with a 79 while freshman Andrew Sanderson and senior Cameron Hill each carded an 81. Hill and Niemeier led the Ducks for the weekend with a 167 to put them two strokes ahead of Sanderson's 169.
 
Elmira improved 13 strokes from day one to day two of the McDaniel College Spring Invitational to finish 15th overall with a two-day score of 679. Brandon Payne '17 led the Soaring Eagles with a two-day score of 164 to finish tied for 37th.
 
Troy Gordon '15 improved 14 strokes from yesterday to post a 78 today and a two-day score of 170 to finish tied for 58th. Niall O'Connor '15 carded an 89 today to post a two-day score of 172 to place tied for 66th. Dan Gridley '18 followed O'Conner tied for 74th overall with a 175 while Brian Demo '17 finished tied for 84th with a two-day score of a 181.

Nazareth's finished in 17th place with scores of 353 and 346 for a 699 total.  Sophomore Jonathan Gerken and senior Daniel Strack finished tied for 69th place individually. Gerken had rounds of 88 and 85 on the par-72 layout for a 173 total. Strack had rounds of 87 and 86. Junior Caleb McGuire (86-88--174); senior Andrew Lund (93-87--180) and junior Sean de Herder (92-89--181) also competed for the Golden Flyers.
