Elmira Drops Home Opener to Oswego State

Corning, NY -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team (1-5) fell 16-6 to Oswego State in the EC men's home opener today. Eric Hallman '15 led the Soaring Eagles on offense with two goals in today's action.
 
The Lakers scored the game's first goal 2:31 in and then scored five more goals in the first to lead 6-0. Oswego scored five more goals in the second quarter before Tessier received the ball from Nevin Olney '18 and put EC's first goal in the net to trail the Lakers 11-1 with 3:33 left in the second quarter. Oswego scored one more time before the end of the half to lead 12-1 heading into the locker rooms.
 
TJ Leach '16 scored the first goal of the second half 6:02 in to trail the Lakers 12-2. Oswego then scored three straight goals to take a 15-2 lead at the end of the third quarter.  4:33 into the fourth quarter Tessier passed the ball over Hallman who put the ball in the back of the net to score Elmira's third goal of the game. 26 seconds later Anthony LaRusso '17 scored to trail Oswego 15-4.
 
With 8:28 left in regulation the Lakers scored a man up goal to up their lead to 16-4. Skyler Pradelski '15 and Hallman scored the game's final two goals to trail 16-6. LaRusso was credited with the assist on the final goal of the game.
 
Wyatt Katsos '17 made 11 saves in the first 36:30 of the game before Cameron Prior '17 entered the game and recorded three saves for the EC men.
 
The Soaring Eagles will compete next tomorrow, April 1st when the EC men host Houghton College at 4:00 p.m. in an Empire 8 Conference game.
