Elmira 7, Penn State Behrend 2 Box Score
The Elmira College men's tennis team picked-up their first win of the 2014-15 season, defeating Penn State Behrend 7-2. All five players who suited up for the Purple and Gold today were victorious, helping EC overcome a 2-0 deficit.

The Soaring Eagles were placed in a 2-0 hole before the first point was played as an injury caused EC to forfeit the sixth singles and third doubles points to the Lions. That deficit did not seem to faze the Purple and Gold as they won all seven matches played at the Westwood Racquet Club to take the match, 7-2.

EC quickly tied up the match at 2-2 following wins at first and second doubles. Keith Bujak '15 and Satchal Waters '16 took care of Penn State Behrend's first double team, 8-2, while EC's second doubles team of Austin Mansell '16 and Chris Konow '18 shutout the Lions, 8-0.

Elmira's success continued in singles as four of the five matches were won in straight sets and saw Penn State Behrend win no more than four games. Bujak won at first singles, 6-1, 6-3, followed by Waters winning 6-2, 6-2 at the second position. Mansell had no issues at third singles, winning 6-0, 6-1, and Konow followed suit with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at fourth singles.

The only match to go more than two sets was at the fifth spot where Yaniv Kogan'18 was playing in just his second career match. Kogan dropped a tight first set, 5-7, but he would drop just one game over the next two sets, winning 6-0, 6-1, to earn his first collegiate victory.

Elmira returns home next Sunday, March 8th to take on Oswego State. The non-conference match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center.
