Stevens Women’s Indoor Finishes Eighth at ECAC Indoor Championships
NEW YORK, NY – The Utica College men's and women's track and field team wrapped up the 2015 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Armory Track's New Balance Track & Field Center. The women placed 22
nd out of 60 teams while the men finished 48
th out of the 55 team field.
Senior thrower
Bria Hilliard (Bronx, NY/Mother Cabrini) led the UC women with a new school-record in the weight throw with a toss of 15.83 meters. Hiliard placed fourth overall out of 40.
Junior Corey Zlatniski led the men's squad as he broke his own school-record in the 800 meter run with a clock of 1:54.55. Zlatniski placed seventh out of 15 while grabbing two points.
UC now awaits the conclusion of the indoor season for the final NCAA qualifying marks. The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are set for Friday Mar. 13
th and Saturday Mar. 14
th in Winston-Salem, NC. Roanoke College will host the championships at the C. Homer Bast Center at Kerr Stadium.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's indoor track and field team placed eighth overall in the ECAC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday.
The eighth place finish, scoring 24.50 points, is the highest finish recorded in program history.
Junior
Amy Regan took from first place in the one mile run with a time of 5:00.68. Fellow junior
Kate Moyer placed 10th in the 3000-meter while also setting a personal best time by six seconds.
Two Ducks placed in the top-10 in the high jump with senior
Amira Dardir tying for eighth place with a jump of 1.59 meters. Junior
Gladys Njoku took home first place honors with a jump of 1.72 meters.
Stevens will wait and see if anyone will be competing in the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's indoor track and field team compiled 15 points at the ECAC Championships held at the Armory Track and Field Complex in New York City, marking the best performance in program history.
Taylor Youngkrans finished in second place in the weight throw to earn eight points for Fisher with her throw of 15.98 meters.
The 4 x 400 meter relay quartet of
Jess Colmerauer,
Chelsea Cleveland,
Chelsea Grupp, and
Morgan Mastin each rattled off season-best splits to shatter Fisher's school record with a time of 4:03.53, good for 13
th place.
Sarah Coon set a new school record in the 1000 with a time of 3:05.75.
Fisher will return to action March 28 at the Continental Invite held at The College of William and Mary.
