No. 1 Gettysburg Knocks Off Ithaca

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team dropped a netural-site game in Florida by a 12-6 score to Gettysburg on Monday evening at the National Training Center. Earlier in the day, Gettysburg was voted as the number-one ranked team in the nation by the IWLCA poll and Ithaca remained 18th in the national rankings.

Ithaca opened the scoring with a goal by Emily Peters, assisted by Natalie Lang. After three-straight Gettysburg goals, Ithaca pulled back to within one on a goal by Riley Marion assisted by Ally Runyon. Gettysburg extended its lead to 8-2, but Ithaca scored with one second remaining in the first half on a goal by Mackenzie Robinson.

Morgan Cadwell, Marion and Runyon scored second-half goals for the Bombers.

Marion had two goals and Runyon had a goal and an assist to lead Ithaca's offense.

Emily Ross started in goal and made two saves for the Bombers. She was replaced by Kimberly Presuto who made six saves and took the loss.

Ithaca returns to action Wednesday at the National Training Center against Dickinson.
