HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 1, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped its home finale Wednesday, 8-1 to New York University.
The loss dropped Stevens to 11-5 while NYU moved to 2-2.
Junior Julia Guiganard and sophomore
Allie Masciana got the Ducks on the board with a 9-8 win at third doubles, but NYU was able to gain the advantage going into singles by taking the wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Senior
Jessica Bourque and junior
Alexis Connor put together a strong showing at No. 1 before falling in a tiebreaker, 9-8.
NYU added to its lead with a sweep at singles to clinch the win. Bourque fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, and senior
Danielle Stewart loss at No. 2, 6-2. 6-4.
Freshman
Katrina Guido dropped at No. 5 6-2, 6-2 while Masciana fell at No. 6, 6-0, 6-1.
The Ducks will conclude the spring portion of their schedule April 8 at SUNY New Paltz.
