Ithaca Fourth After Opening Round At Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's golf team opened its spring competitive season in the first round of the Vassar Golf Invitational. Ithaca totaled 336 and is fourth in the team standings among a field of 12 teams. The tournament is being contested at Casperkill Golf Club, which is a par-72 course and playing to 5,852 yards.

Williams leads the team standings with a score of 306. New York University is second at 320 and Middlebury is third, three strokes ahead of Ithaca at 333.

Sharon Li and Kelsey Baker both carded two birdies in their rounds. Li stands tied for second in the individual standings after a round of 77. Baker is tied for 11th after an opening-round 81. Indiana Jones ranked third in the Ithaca lineup with a score of 83 and is tied for 17th among all individuals.

Ithaca's other lineup members this week are Taylor MacDonald who scored 95 and Kyra Denish who posted 96.

The second round begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.
