BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ithaca College women's outdoor track & field team produced an outstanding program performance at Moravian's Coach P Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Bethlehem, Pa. Ithaca notched seven first place finishes in the non-scoring meet.

Ithaca dominated the weight throw, placing five student-athletes within the top eight. Kristina Stockburger won the event by nearly nine feet with a distance of 46.75 meters (153 feet, 4 inches). Brandy Smith followed with a mark of 44.08 meters (144' 7") and Caitlin Noonan finished in fifth at 42.44 meters (139' 3"). Francesca Boylan and Yvonne Palacios took seventh and eighth for the Bombers with performances of 41.56 meters (136' 4") and 40.54 meters (133').

Alexa Rick was another first place performer in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:18.61, which was 21 seconds faster than the runner up. Emily Drain finished seventh overall out of 21 competitors in 19:36.70.

Brandy Smith tallied Ithaca's third top finish in the discus, measuring out 44.59 meters (146' 3"). Charis Lu placed sixth in the event with a mark of 35.65 meters (116' 11").

Leigh Martino topped the field in the 400-meter hurdles by over two seconds with a time of 1:03.62. Kristin Lynn posted a time of 1:07.73 in the same event to place seventh.

Eliza Dewart continued the impressive meet for the Bombers with another first place showing in the 200-meter dash in 25.59 seconds.

Emilia Scheemaker picked up Ithaca's sixth first place effort on Saturday in the triple jump with a leap of 11.69 meters (38' 4.25").

Dewart, Martino, Sierra Grazia and Christine Kelly made up the "A" team in the 4x400-meter relay and notched a second place performance with a time of 4:07.88. Taryn Cordani, Brianne Hayes, Brittany Greene and Colleen Vaughn ran a time of 4:14.99 to place fifth.

In the shot put, Corinne Taylor posted Ithaca's top showing in third with a mark of 11.62 meters (38' 1.5"), while Boylan finished fifth at 11.26 meters (36' 11.5"). Christine Benway completed the 100-meter hurdles in 15.33 seconds, which was good for third overall.

The Bombers took four of nine spots in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, including two of the top three showings. Allison Bartkowiak ran a time of 11:44.15 to come in second, while Michaela Cioffredi came in third with a time of 11:44.59. Emma Boyd crossed in eighth with a time of 13:01.40, and Georgia Caplen clocked 13:02.14 to place ninth.

Cordani placed fourth in the 800-meter run, and first among DIII entries, with a time of 2:18.96. Grazia also ran in the 800 with a time of 2:22.11 to come in seventh.

Ithaca's "A" team in the 4x100-meter relay finished fourth overall in a time of 48.97 seconds. The team consisted of Dewart, Lizzi Dowling, Rachel Friedman and Sarah Werner. The "B" squad of Emily Williams, Kelly, Rose Paskoff and Colleen Smith completed the event in 49.90 seconds to place sixth.

Dowling and Werner ran times of 12.95 seconds and 13.01 seconds in the 100-meter dash to come in fifth and seventh. Colleen Smith also entered the 400-meter dash and finished seventh in a time of 1:00.55, while Benway measured out 5.15 meters (16' 10.75") in the long jump for come in eighth.

Natalie Meyer cleared 1.54 meters (5' 0.5") in the high jump to tie for fifth.


Utica's Sarah Wiatr recorded a clearance of 11.59 in the triple jump placing second behind Ithaca's Scheemaker who recorded an impressive leap of 11.69. Wiatr is now eighth on the NCAA DIII Outdoor Qualifying list.

Katherine Pearce (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) soared 1.49 meters in the high jump as she finished in a four-way tie for fourth place.

Gabrielle McQueen (Long Valley, NJ/Morris Catholic) re-shattered her own school record in the javelin for the second time in as many weeks with a fly of 26.64.
