Cardinals Defeat Pioneers
The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back, earning a 16-5 win over visiting Utica College on Sunday's Senior Day. With the win, the Cardinals move to 10-4 overall and 5-1 in the Empire 8 Conference, and have enjoyed four straight wins. The Pioneers fall to 8-5 and 3-3, respectively.
Jordan Johnson and
Samantha Barton accounted for four of the first five unanswered goals that occured in the first 5:30 minutes of the game.
The Pioneers recorded their first notch of the day with 20:31 remaining in the opening half. Soon after,
Kaitlyn Agedal scored her first goal of the day to push Fisher's lead to 6-1. Utica squeezed in another goal halfway through the first half before Fisher went on another run, scoring four unanswered goals with 8:34 remaining. At halftime, Fisher led 10-3.
Fisher added another four-goal run in the second half to secure the win.
Barton led the Cardinals with four goals, while Johnson and Agedal finished with three goals apiece. Johnson also added a team-high three assists. Six other Cardinals added a notch --

Nicole Hart earned the win in net, making five saves in 47:03.
Jenn Crater recorded four saves in the remaining 12:57.
The Cardinals return to action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when they host Houghton College for their final home, regular season contest.
