Scranton Finishes Second In Quad-Match On Wednesday

HANOVER, Pa. – Senior Erik Meyer (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) led The University of Scranton men's golf team with a six-over-par 77 as the Royals finished second in a quad-match with King's, FDU-Florham and Lycoming on Wednesday afternoon at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
The Royals (13-6) fired a four-player total of 334, falling only to King's (328) while defeating FDU-Florham (340) and Lycoming (359).
Meyer's 77 tied for medalist honors and was one of just five scored below 80 on a cool, breezy afternoon that included some rain, as well.
Scranton also received a pair of 85s from junior Carmine Gerrity-Gemei (Ossining, N.Y./Iona Prep) and Steven Lambrinakos (Stamford, Conn./Trinity) and an 87 from sophomore Tyler Huggins (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area).Jim Pichiarello (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) added a 93.
The Royals play their final match of the season on Tuesday, April 28, when they take on Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College) at 1 p.m. at Stonehedge Country Club in Factoryville, Pa.
