Ithaca and Houghton at Bomber's Tuesday Meet

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team hosted an outdoor home meet on Tuesday, April 21, at Butterfield Stadium. There was no team scoring recorded in Ithaca's Tuesday meet that hosted athletes from Cornell, Herkimer CCC, Houghton and Robert Wesleyan.
 
Ithaca secured nine top 10 finishes on the day.
 
Senior Rashaad Barrett took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.06 seconds. Fellow Senior Mason Mann had a top finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.38, while freshman Chris Gutierrez placed first in 4:14.45. Dane Eckweiler topped the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.20, while junior Andrew Brandt reached 1.90 meters in the high jump to place first. Dan Drill led the pole vault field with a top finish of 3.90 meters, while Gerardo Munoz finished in first in the triple jump after marking a distance of 12.08 meters. Gabe Shakour notched the final first place finish of the day in the javelin throw, after reaching 44.68 meters.
 
The Bombers finished first through third in the the 4x100-meter relay with a top finishes of 45.83 seconds, 46.34 and 47.01. The first place realy team consisted of Cam Denmark, Colton FreemanKevin Pomer and Andrew Brandt. The second relay team included Nick DiNapoli, Anthony ZagorskyJordan Wohlfeld and Tyler Denn-Thiele. Freshmen Trevor Strother and Alex Graap and juniors Dane Eckweiler and Alex Schneider made up the final relay team that took third place overall.
 
In the 200-meter dash Alex Schneider finished in second, while Anthony Zagorsky followed in third and Jordan Wohlfeld finished sixth. Schneider earned a time of 23.62 seconds, while Zagorsky completed the race in 23.88 and Wohlfeld in 25.01 seconds.
 
Ithaca finished second through sixth place in the 400-meter dash, clocking times from 52.49 seconds to 55.17 seconds. Nick DiNapoli led the Bombers in second place. Zargorsky finished in third, while Zane Shephard, John Fausold and Wohlfeld placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
 
Sophomore Allan Bowen completed the 800-meter run in 2:05.67, taking third overall. Freshman Anthony Ferris finished fifth in 2:08.41.
 
Noah Cohen recorded second and third place finishes in the hurdles. Cohen completed the 110-meter hurdles in 17.79 for second, and then completed the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.56 for third.
 
Houghton's Josiah Evans took first in the 110 meter hurdles in 17.00.  Ithaca's Jordan Smith clocked a time of 1:00.20 after the 400-meter hurdles to place second. Trevor Strother took third in the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 17.79 seconds.

Houghton's Dan Becker won the long jump with a leap of 5.59 meters and finished second in the high jumpi (1.75 meters). 
 
Kevin Pomer took fourth in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump at Butterfield Stadium. Pomer cleared 1.75 meters in the high jump and marked 11.15 meters in the triple jump.
 
Tyler Denn-Thiele, David Dorsey and Thomas Battistelli finished in third, fourth and fifth place in the pole vault. Denn-Thiele and Dorsey cleared 3.75 meters, while Battistelli reached 3.60 meters.
Denn Thiele also place fourth in the long jump after marking a distance of 5.32 meters. Cam Denmark followed in 5.12 meters to claim fifth.
 
Sam Cherney led Ithaca in the discus throw, reaching 41.72 meters to take second. Gabe Shakour threw 38.32 meters to finish fourth.
 
In the triple jump, Denmark secured second place and Colton Freeman earned third.  Denmark hit 11.81 meters, while Freeman measured 11.76 meters.
 
Ithaca athletes dominated the shot put, finishing in second, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth. Larry Cass led the Bombers with a distance of 12.29 meters. Cherney followed in fourth with 11.66 meters. JT Buttimer, Rob Terano and Seth Abbott accounted for sixth seventh and eighth place, with lengths of 11.05 meters, 11.02 meters and 8.59 meters.
 
Buttimer reached 38.5 meters in the hammer throw for third. Cameron Willette measured 37.79 meters for fourth and Terano's throw marked 36.15 meters for fifth.
 
Aaron Matthias competed in the javelin throw, reaching 40.44 meters to take third. Brandt followed in fifth, throwing the javelin 39.25 meters.
