Results

Empire 8 Track and Field teams competed in the Cardinal Classic on Saturday, which was hosted by St. John Fisher College.

ST. JOHN FISHER
Taylor Youngkrans was third in the hammer throw, while Paige Willson was fifth in the event.  Wilson also placed second overall in the javelin (29.43 meters).

Shannon Davis placed fourth in the steeplechase, while Ronni Ehlers was fifth in the 100 hurdles (16.58).

In the 800, Sarah Coon broke the Fisher record, which she set six days ago, with a time of 2:24.26, good for seventh place just missing out on the NYSCTC A Standard.

Fisher's 1600 meter relay team of Jess ColmerauerChelsea ClevelandChelsea Grupp and Sydney Saccone earned the number one spot in 4:07.92.

Saccone ran a 1:02.86 in the 400 to place 12th.

Colmerauer and Cleveland finished seventh and eighth in the 200 dash, both hitting the NYSCTC B Standard.

Danielle Redmond notched a season-best 3.05 meters in the pole vault to finish in third place.

NAZARETH
Senior Hannah Brackley recorded a second-place, school-record performance in the 100-meter dash with a time of :12.56. Brackley's rare appearance in the 100 dash edged the school-record by .11 seconds.

Junior Taylor Pierson took first in the long jump with a leap of 5.46 meters (17 feet, 11 inches), and classmate Amanda Entress finished just outside the top-10 in 11th (4.78 meters—15 feet, 8 1/4 inches). Entress recorded a fourth-place performance in the triple jump with a mark of 10.58 meters (34 feet, 8 1/2 inches). In the high jump, freshman Emily Soeder (1.57 meters—5 feet, 1 3/4 inches) and senior Kate Durr (1.47 meters—4 feet, 9 7/8 inches) placed second and fifth, respectively.

Sophomore Kelsey Hill was just outside the top-10 in the triple jump with a mark of 9.73 meters (31 feet, 11 1/8 inches). Freshman Emily Pawlowski also took 10th in the pole vault with a mark of 2.3 meters (7 feet, 6 1/2 inches).

On the track, senior Michaela Gildemeyer was fourth with a time of :59.54 in the 800-meter run, and freshman Kimmy Lovett was fifth in the 1500-meter event with a time of 4:55.77. Following Gildemeyer in the 800 was freshman Samantha Goble in ninth (1:01.59) and classmate Andrea Larnard in 11th-place (1:02.62).

Freshman Sarah Williams was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (1:14.47), while junior Maggie Muzio was 10th (:13.46) in the 100-meter dash, and freshman Elizabeth Wisely was 11th (1:17.66) in the 100-meter hurdles.


UTICA
Junior Sarah Wiatr won the triple jump with a leap of 11.65 m. and sophomore Jade Jenkins added two tallies for Utica as she placed fifth in the event (10.39m).  Wiatr then notched six points as she finished third in the long jump (5.15 m).
 
Gabrielle McQueen and Alexis Edwards combined for six points in the javelin and the hammer throw, with fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively.  Edwards shattered the school record and qualified for ECAC's with her toss.  Mikey Maxwell led Utica in the track events as she took home third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.33. 

HOUGHTON
Joanna Friesen won and qualified for NCCAA in the 3K steeplechase. She is currently ranked 5th in the NCCAA in the event.

Rachel Hummel ran a one minute PR and broke the 20:00 barrier in the 5k with a 19:59.95.

Rebekah White qualified for the 800m for NCCAA.


ALFRED
Freshman Brynn Hyde was ninth in the discus (31.73 meters). Freshman Megan Steen was 19th in the discus (22.08 meters).
