Tournament Title For Ithaca Women's Golf Team
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's golf team wrapped up its 2014-15 regular season with an eight-stroke victory and tournament championship at the Ithaca College Invitational. The event took place Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26 at The Country Club of Ithaca. Ithaca scored 327 as a team in Sunday's second round for a total of 651. Ithaca went into the final round with a four-shot lead over Methodist and a five-shot advantage over Cortland. Ithaca's score on Sunday was four strokes ahead of Methodist with a 331 for a total of 659 and 14 better than Cortland at 341 for a total of 670.
The Bombers are in consideration for an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship. The tournament field will be announced Monday, May 4. Ithaca placed tied for fifth in the NCAAs last year in their first qualification as a team for that event.
Sharon Li was the tournament medalist with a two-day total of 149. After an opening round score of 74 that included three birdies, Li's second round was steady. She birdied the opening hole and carded 13 pars and four bogeys the rest of the way for a 75. It was the 14th individual tournament victory of her stellar Ithaca College career.
Fellow senior
Kelsey Baker was third among all individuals with consistent scores of 79 and 80 over the tournament for a total of 159.
Indiana Jones scored 85-87-172 and was 12th with
Taylor MacDonald scoring 91-85-176 for a 14th-place finish.
Kyra Denish was Ithaca's fifth player in the lineup with a 93 on Sunday and a two-day total of 179 to place tied for 16th.
Mary Rooker competed as an individual and had an 11-stroke improvement from the first round to the second. She scored 104-93-197 and was tied for 27th.
Hamilton finished fourth with a 759, St. John Fisher was fifth at 765 and Nazareth was sixth with a 1,061. Elmira did not have a complete lineup for the second round due to illness and was the seventh participating team in the event.
The course played to a par-72 at 5,800 yards.
St. John Fisher College placed fifth overall at the Ithaca College Invitational over the weekend. The Cardinals shot a 384 on Saturday and 381 on Sunday.
Alexis Juda led Fisher on both days, shooting an 89 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday and placed 19
th overall.
Senior
Ceilia Fitzgerald (94-99) was 24
th overall in her final collegiate match.
Megan Bleck (101-94) finished in 26
th place, while
Jenna Stogsdill was in 27
th place with a 103 on Saturday and a 94 on Sunday.
Christiann Lerminiaux (100-105) placed 30
th overall.
Elmira College finished with a two-day score of a 634.
Audrey Clarke '18 led the Soaring Eagles in 23rd place with a complete tournament score of a 191.
Giovanna DeLoca '17 followed Clarke in 31st with a 212 after carding a 108 today.

Cassidy Delainey '15 withdrew from competition today due to illness.
