Baseball Player – Stevens
Jayson Yano, Junior, Infield – Foothill Ranch, CA/El Toro
Jayson Yano had 12 hits (12-for-20) in five games this week, while knocking in 14 runners. Against Baruch, he went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. On Sunday, he broke a school-record when he went 6-for-6 against Elmira, with four runs batted in and stroked two doubles. On Saturday, he had another four RBIs and against NJCU on Wednesday, he went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Baseball Pitcher – St. John Fisher
Marc Iseneker, Sophomore – Sherrill, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill
Marc Iseneker pitched a complete scoreless nine inning game in a 2-0 win over Ithaca on Saturday. He surrendered just two hits while striking out 10 batters and holding opponents to a .074 batting average.
Softball Player – Utica
Courtney Fitzgerald, Senior, C/UT – Albany, NY/Colonie Central
Senior Courtney Fitzgerald was 7-for-15 with a team-high 11 RBI as Utica went 2-2 last week. On Friday, she was 6-for-8 with four doubles and one home run, and she also drove in a career-best six RBI in one game to pace the Pioneers. Fitzgerald, who already owns the program's career home run (24) and doubles (43) records, also set a new standard for RBI (128) with her performance over the weekend.
Softball Pitcher – Ithaca
Laura Quicker, Junior – West Islip, NY/St. John The Baptist
Junior Laura Quicker was a perfect 3-0 with three complete games and two shutouts. She pitched all 12 innings in the Bombers' 4-3 win over Buffalo State on Sunday, pushing her weekly total to 26.0 innings pitched. She allowed just one earned run over that stretch, giving her an impressive .27 ERA. She recorded 71 strikeouts and held opponents to just .161 at the plate.
Men’s Lacrosse Player – Nazareth
Drew Simoneau, Senior, Midfield – Manchester, NH/Kimball Union
Drew Simoneau continued his face-off dominance for the Golden Flyers last week as he won 24 of 33 draws in a pair of Empire 8 Conference wins. In addition, he reached 1,000 face-off wins for his career. He won 12 of 14 with 11 ground balls in a 29-0 romp over Houghton last Wednesday, then captured 12 of 19 draws in a 16-6 win at St. John Fisher Saturday.
Men’s Lacrosse Goalie – Elmira
Cameron Prior, Sophomore – Malden, MA/Malden Catholic
Cameron Prior led Elmira to a 1-1 record, including a season-ending victory over Alfred State College. EC lost 15-4 to Stevens Tech in their first game of the week, but the margin was kept the way it was because of Prior. He made an Elmira College single-game high 38 saves against the Ducks, including 25 in the first half. Then, to close the week, Prior made 15 saves while allowing just four goals in EC's 10-4 win over the Pioneers.
Women's Lacrosse Player – Utica
Morgan DuPont, Senior, Attack – Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park
Senior Morgan DuPont set a new school-record with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in her final collegiate game as the Pioneers' defeated Houghton College on Saturday. She also added an assist in the Pioneers' 10-9 loss to Ithaca College on Wednesday. She finished the week with averages of 6.0 points per game, 1.5 ground balls per game and 1.0 caused turnover per game. DuPont become the first player in program-history to record over 100 assists in a career and finishes with 104.
Women's Lacrosse Goalie – Ithaca
Emily Ross, Sophomore – Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville
Emily Ross led Ithaca to a pair of one-goal victories. She made nine saves, including one from close range in the closing seconds of a 9-8 win over No. 7 Hamilton on Tuesday. The following day, Ross had 11 saves in Ithaca's 10-9 win at Utica, which clinched an Empire 8 playoff spot for the Bombers.
Men’s Golf Player – Elmira
Evan Clarke, Senior – Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili
Evan Clarke had two top-10 finishes in the final two tournaments of his decorated career. First, Clarke carded a two-over-par 73 and finished seventh at the Franklin and Marshall College Invitational on Monday, then came back to finish in second place at the Elmira College Spring Invitational, one shot behind teammate Brandon Payne.
Men’s Tennis Player– Elmira
Satchal Waters, Junior – Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy
Satchal Waters was 4-0 on the week, leading the Soaring Eagles to a pair of victories and their first Empire 8 Tournament berth since the four-team format was adopted in 2008. His wins this week were not only instrumental in EC's 9-0 sweep of Utica and its 6-3 postseason-clinching win over Nazareth, but they also cemented his name in Elmira College men's tennis history. Waters moved into sole possession of first place in career doubles victories, second place in total career victories, and into a tie for second place in career singles victories.
Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete – Stevens
Louis Stengel, Senior – Vernon, NJ/Vernon
Louis Stengel broke the school record placing third in the 800m with a time of 1:54.56. In the process, he qualified for the ECAC Championship meet.
Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete – Utica
Sam Kaczmarek, Sophomore – South Windsor, CT/South Windsor
Sophomore Sam Kaczmarek led the Utica College men's track and field team Saturday at the Cardinal Classic. Kaczmarek totaled 18 team points as he earned a first place finish in the discus with a throw of 40.84 meters. He also placed second in the shot put with a toss of 15.13 meters.
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete – Ithaca
Christine Benway, Senior – Queensbury, NY/Queensbury
Senior Christine Benway was one of two Division III athletes to qualify for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles at Cornell's Big Red Invitational on Sunday. Benway took fifth in the prelims with a time of 14.89 seconds and placed eighth in the final with a time of 15.18 seconds. She also competed in the long jump and measured 5.54 meters in the long jump to take third in the event.
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete – Stevens
Amira Dardir, Senior - Jersey City, NJ/McNair Academy
Senior Amira Dardir reached a height of 1.70-meters in her primary field event, the high jump at the Penn Relays last week. She competed in the heptathlon, where her 1.70m leap ties for ninth in DIII this year.
