Jimenez Fires 77 To Lead Royals To Season-Ending Victory Over Summit University Tuesday

FACTORYVILLE, Pa.—In the final match of his career, senior Josh Jimenez (Apalachin, NY/Seton Catholic Central) shot a six-over-par 77 to lead The University of Scranton men’s golf team to a 321-456 victory over Summit University Tuesday afternoon at Stonehedge Golf Course.

The Royals also received a 79 from freshman Warren Rozelle (Clarks Green, Pa./Scranton Preparatory), an 82 from freshman Frank Argenti (East Islip, NY/East Islip), an 83 from sophomore Kevin Nardella (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono), an 84 from freshman Michael Boland (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer), and a 92 from senior Dominick Sparks (Forest City, Pa./Forest City Regional).

With today’s win, Scranton ends its 2015 season with a 14-6 record in dual-match competition.

Nate Wiersma led the Defenders with a 98 and Michael Pannebaker was next with a 110.

Jimenez’s 77 today tied his previous career-low rounds of 77 against then Baptist Bible College, now Summit University, on September 4, 2013, at Stonehege and 77 against Marywood, Misericordia, and Elizabethtown on September 9, 2014, at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
