ECAC Athletes of the Week: April 20-26, 2015

Five Empire 8 student-athletes have been named Corvias ECAC Division III Upstate Players of the Week for the week of April 20-26, 2015.
 
Baseball – Upstate
Player of the Week
Jayson Yano – Stevens Institute of Technology, Junior, INF, Foothill Ranch, Calif.
Yano collected 12 hits (12-for-20) in five games last week, while knocking in 14 runs. Against Baruch, he went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. On Sunday, he broke a school-record when he went 6-for-6 against Elmira, with four runs batted in and two doubles.
 
Baseball – Upstate
Pitcher of the Week
Marc Iseneker – St. John Fisher College, Sophomore, Sherrill, N.Y.
Iseneker tossed a complete-game shutout in a 2-0 win over Ithaca on Saturday. The sophomore surrendered just two hits while striking out 10 batters and holding opponents to a .074 batting average.
 
Softball – Upstate
Pitcher of the Week:
Laura Quicker – Ithaca College, Jr., P, West Islip, N.Y.
Quicker tossed three complete games and two shutouts for the Bombers last week. En route to allowing just one earned run in 26.0 innings of action, Quicker racked up 17 strikeouts and pitched all 12 frames in a win over Buffalo State.
 
Men’s Tennis – Upstate
Player of the Week
Satchal Waters – Elmira College, Junior, Elmira, N.Y.
Waters was 4-0 last week, leading the Soaring Eagles to a pair of victories and their first Empire 8 Tournament berth since the four-team format was adopted in 2008. In addition, Waters moved into sole possession of first place in career doubles victories at Elmira, second place in total career victories, and into a tie for second place in career singles victories.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field - Upstate
Athlete of the Week
Amira Dardir – Stevens Institute of Technology, Sr., Jersey City, N.J.
Dardir reached a height of 1.70 meters in her primary field event, the high jump at the Penn Relays last week. She competed in the heptathlon, where her 1.70m leap ties for ninth in Division III this year.
