Utica Wraps Up Season With a Win

KEUKA PARK, NY - The Utica College men's tennis team won its final match of the 2014-15 season Wednesday, 5-4, against host Keuka College at the KC Tennis Complex.  UC split singles competition winning three matches, however took a 2-1 advantage in doubles play en route to its season ending victory.

UC's Dominick Trimarchi (Albany, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) and Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) teamed up in the first doubles set for an 8-3 victory followed by Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) and Joe Castellitto (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) in the second slot who won in shutout fashion, 8-0.

Trimarchi also was victorious in singles (6-0, 6-2) in the first frame while Valle won in the No. 3 hole  (6-2,6-3).

Utica's captain Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) continued his impressive campaign as he won his fourth singles match in the last five weeks (6-2, 6-0)..

The Pioneers wrap up the season with an overall mark of 2-11 while the Wolfpack conclude its campaign with a 1-10 ledger.
