Alfred's Locker claims javelin win at Ohio Wesleyan

MEET RESULTS

DELAWARE, OH – Senior Sean Locker (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post West) won the javelin competition to lead the Alfred University men's outdoor track and field team Saturday at the Ohio Wesleyan University invitational.
 
Locker won the javelin throw with a heave of 54.65 meters as the Saxons finished in 11th place with 24 points. Also scoring points (top eight) for AU were: junior Ian Bishop (Bronx, NY/Bronxville Prep), third in the shot put (14.07 meters); junior Gregory Matos (Bronx, NY/ELLIS Prep), fifth in the 400-meter dash (50.41 seconds); and freshman Alex Hall (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford), fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:01.39).
 
Other top performers for the AU men were: sophomore Jeffrey Nunez (Wurtsboro, NY/Ellenville), ninth in the hammer throw (44.62 meters) and 12th in the discus (37.09 meters); freshman Seth Spicer (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post), 15th in the 400-meter dash (52.44); and freshman Jeff Daneault (Natick, MA/Natick), ninth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.30 seconds).
 
AU is in action next on Wednesday, April 8, for a tri-meet with Alfred State College and Houghton College, hosted by Houghton.
