HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 8, 2015) – Senior Peirce Marston allowed two over seven innings while junior Zeph Walters had two RBI's to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team to a 5-2 victory over Drew University on Wednesday.

The Ducks took home their sixth straight win, and improved to 14-9 overall while the Rangers fell to 7-16.

Stevens struck first in the top half of the second inning after junior Jayson Yano led off with a single and freshman Alex Detweiler walked. After a double steal and walk loaded the bases, junior Nick Sieber lofted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Yano. Drew tied the game up after freshman Ryan Sabbag knocked home sophomore Mike Miraglia.

The home team added to their lead in the top of the third after Miraglia drew a bases-loaded walk to score a run. The Ducks retook the lead in the top of the fifth with a one-out rally. Senior Ryan Mannello led off with a single up the middle and moved into scoring position after junior Jonathan Toro was hit by a pitch. Senior Marc Calleo rapped an RBI single through the left side, and after a double-steal, Toro and Calleo were driven home by Walters. Stevens tacked on an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning after Yano singled, swiped second and third, and came around on a throwing error.

Yano, Walters and Mannello all had a pair of hits while the Ducks swiped eight bases as a team led by four from Yano. Marston fanned three in seven innings while sophomore Bret Viola pitched a scoreless eighth and junior Ryan Patterson shut the door in the ninth for fifth save of the season.

Junior Bobby Miskura and Miraglia each had three hits while Sabbag had two hits in the losing effort. Senior Leo Ruiz was saddled with the loss, tossing five and third innings striking out two and allowing four runs.
