HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 10, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse defeated Lebanon Valley College 9-7 to win the ECAC Women's Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Region Championship Sunday.

Senior Amanda Ingersoll was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Junior Erika Wilcox opened the scoring with her 71st goal of the year at the 1:36 mark of the first half, but Lebanon Valley (12-8) connected for the next three markers with junior Sam Boyce scoring once and senior Anna Pagels netting two. Wilcox and sophomore Caroline DeLuca scored to even the game at three heading into halftime, with DeLuca's tally coming with 3:47 to go.

Stevens stormed out of the gates in the second period, potting the first five goals on the period in just over the beginning 10 minutes. Freshman Julianna Ricci scored back-to-back goals and fellow freshman Cami Santor scored in between a pair of tallies from sophomore Kathleen Kalbian to give the hosts an 8-3 edge.

The Dutchmen roared back and over the next eight minutes brought the gap to within one as junior Tori Kuntz, Pagels, freshmen Nikki Lloyd and Emma Jones all netted goals to make the game close. LVC would win the ensuing draw, but freshman Stephanie Schnelzer made two big saves and sophomore Betsy Crossland forced a turnover. Wilcox came down the field and scored off a feed from Kalbian to reestablish the two goal margin. The Ducks (15-5) were able to run down the rest of the clock and did not allow a shot the rest of the way to preserve the victory.

Stevens held a 21-16 edge in shots and a decisive 21-12 margin in ground balls. Wilcox had three goals and an assist while Kalbian had two goals, one assist and a team high five ground balls. Schnelzer made six saves for the win.

Pagels had three goals while Jones and Kuntz each had a goal and three shots on goal.
