The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College golf team tees off Tuesday at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. The tournament is being played for the second straight year at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

The Cardinals, ranked 19th in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) poll, are playing in their fifth consecutive NCAA Division III national championship.  Fisher captured its fifth-straight Empire 8 title and 10th in the last 11 years to earn an automatic bid.  Last season, Fisher placed sixth at the NCAA Championship, marking the third-straight top 10 finish for the program.

The Cardinals will play both the East Course (7200 yards) and the West Course (6700 yards) over the first two rounds of play. Fisher tees off at 8:20 a.m. on the West Course on Tuesday and 12:05 p.m. on the East Course on Wednesday.  The 41-team field will be cut to 15 following the second round Wednesday.

Junior Corey Haas, the Empire 8 Player of the Year, leads Fisher into the tournament with a 74.48 scoring average over nine rounds of play this season.  Haas is making his second appearance in the NCAA Championship after participating as a sophomore and finishing tied for 48th.

Fisher's lone senior, Chris Blythe, is making his fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA Championship.  Last season he posted the best score for Fisher, shooting a 295 (+7) to earn a 12th place finish.

Karl Deuble, Devin Solar, and Ian Campbell will all be making their first appearance in the NCAA Championship.
