Meet Results
The Empire 8 women's track and field athletes wrapped up competed at the ECAC outdoor championships Thursday and Friday at Springfield College.



ITHACA
Sophomore Katherine Pitman took third out of 28 entries in the pole vault with a mark of 3.72 meters (12 feet, 2.5 inches) to match her personal best and school record. Junior Alex Rechenfinished in a tie for fourth in the event with a cleared height of 3.57 meters (11' 8.5"). Pitman and Rechen accounted for 9.5 of Ithaca's points on the day.

The team of freshman Sophia Feuer, sophomore Colleen Smith, junior Eliza Dewart and senior Leigh Martino clocked a time of 3:54.35 in the 4x400-meter relay to take fourth in the event.

Senior Emilia Scheemaker took sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.79 meters (38' 8.25"). Fellow senior Christine Benway also finished sixth overall in the 100-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 14.53 seconds.

Senior Kristina Stockburger came in eighth overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.52 meters (155', 11").
Sophomore Brandy Smith highlighted the meet by leading the discus throw. Smith took first with 44.26 meters in the discus throw to earn ECAC Champion recognition in that event. Smith added 10 points to Ithaca's team score. Charisu Lu also competed in the discus, throwing a distance of 35.02 meters.

Senior Christine Benway was a runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles finals. Benway ran time of 14.64 seconds to add eight points to the Bombers overall team score.

Senior Leigh Martino took third in the 400-meter hurdles. Martino earned 6 team points after clocking a time of 1:02.50.

Freshman Taryn Cordani earned a third place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:33.37. Cordani earned six points overall.

Freshman Brianna Hayes finished seventh overall in the heptathlon, scoring 3,792 points over the two day championship. Hayes took an event-best second place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:29.46 and earning 700 points toward her individual score.

Sophomore Natalie Meyer ranked fifth in the high jump, after clearing 1.62 meters. Meyer earned three points towards an overall team score.

In the 4x800-meter relay, Ithaca earned four points for a fifth place finish. The relay team that was made up of Rachelle SartoriSierra GraziaKristin Lynn and Anna Fay crossed the finish line in 9:26.80.

The Bombers placed seventh in the 4x100-meter relay. Ithaca ran a time of 48.42, adding two team points. The relay team consisted of Lizzi DowlingEliza DewartRachel Friedman and Sarah Werner.

In the 200-meter dash, Dewart ran a time of 26.05 seconds. Sophia Feuer clocked a time of 58.92 seconds in the 400-meter dash.

NAZARETH
freshman Kimmy Lovettt finished 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:39.49. Also Nazareth's 4 x 400-meter relay team finished in fifth place in 3:56.40. Seniors Michaela Gildemeyer and Hannah Brackleycompeted along with freshmen Samantha Goble and Andrea Larnard.


ST. JOHN FISHER
The 4x400 relay team of Jess ColmerauerChelsea GruppChelsea Cleveland and Morgan Mastinfinished eighth in its race. Their time of 3:58.30 set a new school record and earned one point for the Cardinals.
 
Sammy Van Gee ran well in the 10K, breaking her own school record with a time of 37:46.53. That time ranks 52nd for the best time in the nation and the eighth-best among underclassmen.
 
Taylor Youngkrans earned four points for Fisher with a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw with 50.83 meters.

Paige Willson took home the title in the shot put.  The senior won in a tiebreaker with a throw of 13.40 meters.

Fisher's 4 x 100 relay of Chelsea ClevelandJess ColmerauerChelsea Grupp, and Morgan Mastin set a new school record with a time of 49.15.  The quartet came into the race seeded 23rd, however they finished in 10th overall.

Less than an hour after helping the 4 x 100 relay set the school record, Mastin churned out a 57.96 in the 400, placing 11th overall and setting a new school record.  Mastin also took part in the 200 dash where she finished in 24th after a 26.29.


STEVENS
Senior Amira Dardir set a school-record with a second place finish in the heptathlon. During this event, she finished third in the javelin, second in the long jump and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. She also tallied a tenth place mark in the high jump, reaching 1.60m.
 
Junior Gladys Njoku took home first place in the high jump, knocking off Laura Pumphrey of WPI in a jump-off at 1.70. Also in the field events, freshman Katie Weeks turned in a ninth place finish with a throw of 12.51m.
 
Junior Kate Moyer turned in her finest performance of her career in the 5,000m run, as she became the second female in school history to run the event in under 18 minutes with her time 17:57. The 4X800 relay team of freshmen Samantha Rokicsak, Katie Brodecki, Kiera Sheridan and sophomore Kaela Earrusso set a school record time of 9:52.61.


UTICA
Junior Sarah Wiatr shattered her own school-record Thursday as she placed second in the triple jump.

Wiatr collected eight points as she put the UC women in 13th place overall out of 33 total teams in the current standings.  The Poland, NY native registered a career-best leap of 12.05 meters gathering Utica's only points of the day one championships.
