ITHACA, N.Y. -- The NCAA Division III Women's Golf Committee announced 21 teams and six individuals that will participate in the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships, and Ithaca College senior Sharon Li was selected to participate in the championship tournament as an individual. It will be Li's third-consecutive trip to the NCAAs. She qualified for the national tournament in 2013 as an individual, was part of the Ithaca team that competed in 2014, and returns as an individual competitor this year.

Li placed tied for 10th in the individual standings in the 2013 event and was tied for 19th in last year's championship. She is a two-time All-American pick by the Women's Golf Coaches Association and two-time selection as a Region 1/East Region all-region player. She is a three-time Empire 8 Player of the Year and has won 14 individual tournaments during her distinguished career at Ithaca.

Sixteen conference champions were granted automatic qualification and the remaining five teams were selected on an at-large basis from conferences and the remaining independent institutions. Six individuals, not from selected teams, also were selected for the championships, to comprise a field of 111 golfers, five each from the 21 teams and six individuals.

Ithaca was ranked third in the East Region of the April 29 edition of the NCAA Regional Rankings, which mimic the selection process used to evaluate teams for at-large consideration for the tournament, but were not selected to the team portion of the event. The Bombers were 10th in the Golfstat Relative Ranking Comparative Record category. Ithaca's adjusted scoring average is 80.25 strokes per round, which ranked 12th in Golfstat scoring calculations.

The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. The tournament consists of 72 holes of play over four days of competition. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team's total score. The championships will be conducted May 12-15 at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The course will play to a par-72, at approximately 5,900 yards. Central Florida Sports Commission and Oglethorpe University will serve as tournament hosts.
