2015 Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team and MVP

The 2015 Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team has been announced. 

St. John Fisher: Lindsey Shoales (MVP), Sierra Badger, Samantha Barton, Jordan Johnson and Kristina Lombard
Ithaca:  Natalie Lang, Riley Marion and Laura Scalzi
Nazareth: Haley DeVona and Ashley Kirch 
Stevens: Steph Schnelzer and Erika Wilcox

Shoales was named as the Championship's Most Valuable Player.  After leading Fisher with five draw controls in Saturday's 10-7 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, Shoales led her squad with four ground balls in Sunday's victory over Ithaca.

Barton tallied a ground ball and unassisted goal in each game for the Cardinals. She also had three draw controls on the weekend.
 
Badger finished the tournament with five goals and five draw controls. She tallied a hat-trick against Stevens in the semifinals and netted two goals in the finals against Ithaca.
 
Johnson scored six-goals and tallied one assist over the course of two games. She had a hat-trick and one helper against Stevens and finished with three goals against Ithaca, marking the ninth game this season she has score three or more goals in a game.

Lombard anchored a midfield/defensive unit that allowed 12 goals on the weekend as Fisher claimed its fourth straight E8 Championship. Lombard and the Cardinals held Stevens scoreless for almost a nine-minute span in the first half of the semifinal game and almost a 16-minute stretch in the second half. In the championship game, the Bombers were held scoreless for a stretch of 12:38 in the first half and the final 16 minutes of the second half.

As a senior midfielder, Lang netted two goals against Stevens to help advance Ithaca to the finals. She also grabbed six groundballs, won four draw controls and recorded three caused turnovers over the two-day conference tournament. 

Marion scored two goals against the Golden Flyers. She also won a draw control, scooped a ground ball and forced a Nazareth turnover. Against the Cardinals, Marion registered two assists and won a team-high six draw controls.

Senior defender, Scalzi recorded two caused turnovers over the weekend to go along with four groundballs. 

Freshman attack, DeVona scored twice for the Golden Flyers in the 11-6 semifinal loss to Ithaca. Both of her goals came in the second half as she tallied the fifth and sixth goal for Nazareth.

Kirch made 10 saves for the Golden Flyers in the 11-6 loss to Ithaca.

In a 10-7 setback against St. John Fisher, Wilcox netted three goals and an assist, including her league leading 61st tally of the season.
 
Schnelzer made a career high 11 saves in the semifinal loss to Fisher.
