Stevens No. 1 Seed in ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Women’s Lacrosse Championship

DANBURY, Conn. – After finishing the season with a 12-5 record, Stevens Institute of Technology (12-5, 6-2) was selected as the top-seed in the 2015 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The tournament, which begins on Wednesday, features an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by semifinal and championship rounds.
The Ducks will begin tournament action by hosting eighth-seeded Neumann University (10-6, 8-1) on Wednesday. In other Wednesday quarterfinals, second-seeded Lebanon Valley College (10-7, 6-2) will play host to SUNY Canton (10-4) while third-seeded McDaniel College (9-7, 4-5) will welcome sixth-seeded Misericordia University (9-9, 5-1) to town. In the No.4/No.5 matchup, Arcadia University (12-7, 4-4) will host Drew University (9-6, 3-3).
The quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, May 9, hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner of the Stevens/Neumann matchup will take on the winner of the Arcadia/Drew contest, while the winner of Lebanon Valley/SUNY Canton will face the victor of McDaniel and Misericordia. The semifinal winners will face-off on Sunday for the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship.
