INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Hartwick Assistant Director of Athletics,
Matt Pohren recently completed his second stint as a facilitator for the NCAA Career in Sports Forum. Pohren was selected and served as a facilitator for the 2014 NCAA Career in Sports Forum in June of 2014 and was selected to come back in the same role for 2015, which ran from June 4-7.
The Career in Sports Forum, an annual educational forum hosted by the NCAA, brings together 200 selected student-athletes to learn and explore potential careers in sports, with the primary focus on intercollegiate athletics. This unique, four-day forum is designed to assist student-athletes in charting their career paths, as well as provide an opportunity to network and learn from current athletics professionals.
In his role as a facilitator, Pohren led a color team of over 28 student athletes, from all three Divisions, over the course of the four day forum.
"The experience is just as powerful for me as it is the student-athletes, said Pohren. "I was very fortunate to be able to serve is this capacity and help those student-athletes learn more about the various roles in collegiate athletics and help them lay into practice, goals they have professionally and for their futures. To be able to make a difference is what I love most about my job. This forum put on by the NCAA, is a testament to the great things the NCAA does and makes available to all student-athletes."
Pohren is in his second year as Assistant Director of Athletics. He also serves as the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach at Hartwick.
