Kaczmarek Promoted To Assistant Director of Athletics

HOBOKEN, N.J. (June 1, 2015) – Stevens Institute of Technology Director of Athletics and Recreation
Russell Rogers announced the promotion of
Emily Kaczmarek to Assistant Director of Athletics for Administration after serving in the interim since April.
"I am thrilled to have Emily join us as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Administration," Rogers said. "Emily's attention to detail and organizational skills are a perfect fit for this position. Her personality and ability to work well with students, faculty and staff have been such a positive since she arrived at Stevens and will serve her well in this new role. I look forward to working with Emily and am very excited about the contribution she is going to make to our university."
Kaczmarek started at Stevens in January 2013 as an intern under Rogers, assisting in compliance and event management. After completing her semester long internship, Kaczmarek stayed on as an assistant to the athletic director, primarily focusing on compliance.
In the fall of 2013, she was named the top assistant to softball head coach
Erica Mehalick, focusing on outfielders and catchers. During her first season on Castle Point, Kaczmarek helped lead Stevens to a school record 30 wins.
"Working side by side with Emily the past two seasons has been fantastic," Mehalick said. "Her work-ethic is great and I know she will do great things in her new role."
A 2011 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, Kaczmarek was a part of the softball program throughout her college career, serving as a student assistant after a career ending injury.
In addition to her role in the athletic department, Kaczmarek served as an admissions interviewer at Stevens while serving as a ballpark operations intern with the New York Mets. Additionally, Kaczmarek served as an intern with The Doman Group in client services and with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority in labor relations and human resources.
Kaczmarek received her master's degree in December 2013 from St. John's University in International Dimensions of Sports Management.
