Final 2014-15 Learfield Cup Standings Announced

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released the final Division III standings for the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup and all eight eligible Empire 8 schools finished in the top 270 among the approximately 450 eligible NCAA Division III programs competing nationally for the prestigious honor.

Stevens Institute of Technology Athletics Department finished in 21st place; the highest ranking in the Empire 8 and amoung New Jersey schools with 531.50 points. 
 
The Ducks captured five different national championships during the 2014-15 campaign, culminating with the men's volleyball team's NCAA National Championship in April. The team title was the first in school history.
 
Individually, junior Amy Regan captured the 2014 cross country national championship, while senior Brittany Geyer took-home national championships in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke for women's swimming. In indoor track, junior Gladys Njoku won the national championship in the high jump.

Ithaca College placed 30th and sophomore Brandy Smith captured the national title in the discus throw at the Outdoor NCAA Track and Field Championships.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women's and nine men's.
