Stevens Ranked Nationally In Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team is ranked No. 21 in the country according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
preseason poll.
The ranking is the highest amongst Empire 8 Conference schools, and makes Stevens the top-ranked team in New Jersey. Tufts University came in at No. 1, while Wheaton College and Messiah College rounded out the top-three.
The Ducks are coming off a season in which they advanced to a 12th straight NCAA Tournament after a ninth consecutive E8 championship. This year's team features both 2014 top-scorers in seniors
Carson Pryor and
Joe Cellitti, while reigning conference player of the year senior
Harrison Kane is back to anchor Stevens' defense.
After a pair of exhibition matches against Yale University and Kean University, the Ducks will open their regular season on Sept. 1 when they host Yeshiva University at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
