National search underway for next coach

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College women's lacrosse coach Shannon McHale has resigned from her head coaching position, Ithaca College Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports Susan Bassett '79 announced Thursday.

McHale stepped down from the position to pursue other career opportunities.

A national search is underway to hire a replacement head coach to oversee an Ithaca program that has won 10 or more games in each of the last six seasons.

"We thank Shannon for her four-year commitment in leading the women's lacrosse program and wish her the best with her future endeavors," Bassett said.

The Bombers have been to the NCAA tournament five times since the 2001 season, and have advanced into the Empire 8 championship eight times since 2004.
