Emily Markarian tied her record of four goals in a game.
The St. John Fisher College field hockey team set a new school record for goals scored in a game as the Cardinals defeated Oberlin College 8-1 at Growney Stadium on Sunday, Sept 6. The eight goal mark eclipsed the previous record of six goals set on October 11, 2014, in a 6-0 victory over Nazareth College.
Emilly Markarian, the 2014 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, picked up where she left off last season as she scored four goals in the contest. She scored in the 10th, 20th, 29th and 44th minute. With the four-goal performance, the sophomore matched her own record from a season ago (10/11/2014) for most goals scored in a game by a Fisher field hockey player.
The Cardinals are back in action at 10 a.m. on Saturday Sept 12 when they travel to Hoboken, NJ for their first Empire 8 Conference game of the season against Stevens Institute of Technology.
