ITHACA, N.Y. –
Ithaca College women's indoor track & field pole vaulters, senior Alex Rechen and junior Katherine Pitman, participated at Cornell's Upstate Challenge on Saturday on Ithaca's East Hill, and Pitman broke her own school record.

Pitman won the pole vault with a mark of 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9.5 inches), which is the top height in all of NCAA Division III and surpasses her previous school record performances of 3.80 meters set earlier this year. She cleared 3.90 on her first attempt, while Binghamton's Christy DiMichele surpassed 3.90 on her third try.

Rechen placed fifth in the event at 3.30 meters (10' 10"). Ithaca's two vaulters were separated by three Division I participants.
