The Empire 8 Conference is full of talented student-athletes and the E8 Spotlight is one way for fans to get to know them.

Erin Ferguson (Berkeley Heights, NJ/ Governor Livingston) is a junior for the Ithaca College women’s basketball team.

Why did you choose to attend Ithaca College? There was the occupational therapy major here, along with the opportunity to play basketball and compete for a national championship.

What has been the greatest part of your experience as a college athlete? Getting the opportunity to play in the Elite 8 my freshman year.

Who has been the most influential person during your athletic career? My AAU coach, John Griff, was positive and held me to a standard that allowed me to learn life lessons before basketball.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Hopefully I will be an occupational therapist with pediatrics and a specialty in aquatics.

What do you like most about competing in the Empire 8? That on any given night a team can come out an win a game.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to cook and study for the current classes I am enrolled in.

What are the top three things on your bucket list?
I want to visit every continent, skydive and meet Noah Syndergaard.

What is something most people don’t know about you?
I really enjoy cooking.
