The 2015-16 Empire 8 athletic campaign continues as the calendar flipped to a new year. Last week marked the first full seven days back on the hardwood as the men's and women's basketball programs began conference play and there were several top performances for fans to indulge in. Men's Basketball Player - Ithaca
Joey Flanagan, Sophomore, Guard – Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C. Ketchem

 
Joey Flanagan scored a career-high 39 points as Ithaca College earned its first conference win of the season after defeating Stevens, 120-110. Flanagan reached the milestone after converting 17-of-21 field goals including four from distance. The sophomore guard also tallied a game-high four steals and grabbed one rebound in the win.
 
Men's Basketball Rookie - Stevens
Ryan Coffey, Freshman, Forward – Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury

 
Freshman Ryan Coffey scored a career-high 19 points to go along with four rebounds and an assist Sunday in the Ducks Empire 8 Conference game at Ithaca. Coffey went 7-for-8 from the field, and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
 
Women's Basketball Player - Alfred
Amanda Off, Junior, Forward – New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley

 
Amanda Off averaged a double-double (22 points, 10 rebounds) as Alfred split a pair of games at the Juniata College holiday tournament last week. She scored 18 points and tallied five rebounds in an opening round loss to Juniata then netted 26 points while pulling down 15 rebounds in a consolation win over Penn State-Altoona, the Saxons' first win of the year.
 
Women's Basketball Rookie - St. John Fisher
Erin Hulbert, Freshman, Guard – Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa

 
Erin Hulbert had six points and four assists while shooting .500 from the field in Fishers’ 101-65 win at Medaille College.  The 101 points are the most scored in a game by Fisher in a quarter-century. Fisher defeated City College of New York 106-24 early in the 1991-92 season.
