Flanagan Tabbed ECAC Player of the Week
Joey Flanagan of the Ithaca College men's basketball team has been named the
Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Upstate Player of the Week after leading the Bombers to a win in their only contest of the week that ended January 3, 2016.
Flanagan scored a career-high 39 points in a 120-110 conference win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday as the sophomore guard made 17-of-21 field goals attempted including four from downtown.
The Poughkeepsie native also contributed on the defensive end of the court, accounting for a game-high four steals in the win.
Flanagan's performance ranks among the best single games in Ithaca's storied basketball history. His 39 points is the sixth-most ever scored in a game while his 17 made field goals is fourth-most all-time.
