Lufkin Hits 1,000 Career Milestone

Joey Lufkin (Argyle, NY/Argyle Central) was at it again Saturday as he dropped in a game-high 27 points to lead the Hawks to a 96-72 blowout of Stevens at Lambros Arena. Lufkin reached the 1,000 point mark for his career at 'Wick, become only the 31
st player in program history to do so.
The Hawks came out strong, hitting 52.6% from the floor with eight three-pointers for a 48-29 lead at halftime. 'Wick made half of its attempts in the second half and dominated the Ducks on the glass for the game, 55-27, for the Empire 8 win. The Hawks are now 2-0 in league play and 7-4 overall.
Lufkin hit the 1,000-mark with 12:35 left in the second half. Needing only a point, he was fouled on a three-point attempt and hit his first from the line for the milestone. For the game, Lufkin made 7-of-15 from the floor and made four threes. He also tied for a game-high with four assists.
